With more than 40 years of construction experience, Jim Teegarden serves as President of Construction at LT Building Corp., where he leads the company’s construction operations and helps guide projects from initial planning through successful completion. Since joining the team in 2020, Jim has played an important role in building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high standards.

Jim’s passion for construction began with an appreciation for watching a community rise from an empty site into something that will serve people for generations. That passion has remained throughout his career and continues to drive his commitment to thoughtful planning, creative problem-solving, and doing things the right way.

Known for his expertise in site development, design coordination, and solving complex construction challenges, Jim has led a wide range of multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial developments. One of his proudest accomplishments was leading the remediation of an ancient landslide to make way for a multifamily housing development—an exceptionally complex project that required technical expertise, innovative thinking, and perseverance.

Rather than choosing a single favorite project, Jim believes every development brings its own challenges, lessons, and relationships. He enjoys working with experienced professionals as well as younger team members who are eager to learn, and values the opportunity to share knowledge while also welcoming new ideas.

To Jim, quality construction is straightforward: “Do it right. Don’t cut corners. Bring an old-school attention to detail to everything you build.”

Outside of work, Jim enjoys traveling with his family, adventure motorcycle riding, off-road racing, and tackling home improvement projects alongside his wife. His greatest pride is his family.

One fact that often surprises people is that Jim has a twin brother and is the youngest of seven children. And if retirement ever comes calling, he already knows where he’d like to be—restoring an old farmhouse in the Italian or French countryside.
