With 18 years of construction accounting experience, Cani Gonzalez serves as Controller at LT Building Corp., overseeing the financial reporting, job costing, cash management, and accounting processes that support the company’s active construction projects. Since joining the team in 2022, she has helped strengthen the financial systems and processes that keep projects and company operations running smoothly.

Although construction accounting wasn’t the career Cani originally envisioned, she grew to appreciate the unique connection between the financial and physical sides of construction. She enjoys watching a project evolve from a budget and set of plans into a completed building and seeing the role financial management plays throughout the process.

Known for her attention to detail and love of numbers, Cani is always looking for ways to improve processes and create greater efficiency and accuracy. One of her proudest professional accomplishments has been implementing new accounting systems and streamlining workflows to make financial information more accurate and accessible.

Among her favorite projects is the Perris Apartments, where she had the opportunity to watch the development progress from start to completion. The Santa Monica projects also stand out for the challenge of quickly getting up to speed on complex projects already underway.

What Cani values most about LT Building Corp. is its people and collaborative culture. She appreciates being part of a team where everyone brings something different, learns from one another, communicates openly, and is willing to help.

Outside of work, Cani is an avid reader and book enthusiast who loves reading, talking about books, and buying books. She also enjoys attending concerts, with musical tastes ranging from hard rock and alternative metal to reggaeton. Family is equally important to her, and she takes particular pride in being a positive role model for her goddaughter and younger cousins.

Her life motto, Aut viam inveniam aut faciam—“I shall find a way or make one”—reflects the determination she brings to both her work and her life.
